Are you feeling the momentum?

Hi everyone,

A few weeks ago, we shared a short survey to better understand your motivations and challenges to switch to European products and services. Going through all your insightful answers, we feel even more confident and excited to share what we are building at Euromentum.

Max and I have had many conversations about our own motivations, so we are glad to see that you share the same ones:

  • Supporting our local economies–to develop our continent’s sovereignty, save and create jobs, and protect our values.
  • Reducing our environmental impact–from more sustainable manufacturing and recycling processes, to shorter transport.
  • Buying higher quality–often with better warranty.

We also wanted to understand what would help you make the switch or what makes it difficult right now. You told us you would like to:

  • Easily find European alternatives to your everyday products and services
  • Hear from other users’ experiences before making the switch.
  • Trust that the alternatives are truly made in Europe.

Today, we are excited to share how Euromentum can address these challenges:

First, we are creating a discovery platform to help you choose the right European products and services, with reviews and testimonials from early adopters. We also want you to be able to engage directly with the makers behind these solutions.

Beyond listing these products and services, we will also investigate how European they truly are. Inspired by apps like Yuka, we want to turn our research into a simple, useful score. The spectrum is wide-ranging–from companies merely "founded" in Europe to those manufacturing entirely on our continent–so Max and I want to avoid Euromentum becoming a platform for Euro-washing.

While we build this directory, we will begin introducing you to alternative digital services (your top-rated category from the survey) directly within this newsletter. Next week we will start by sharing our experience looking for European alternatives to Gmail 😱. Feel free to send us your suggestions by replying to this email or tagging Max or Frank (me) on LinkedIn.

In the meantime, please continue to share this update with anyone who might be interested in Euromentum. Your support means a lot!

Frank and Max
